myLACCD Disbursement Card
Pierce College students,
Beginning in Fall 2010, Pierce College will be issuing a new way for students to receive financial aid disbursements (refunds) via the myLACCDcard. The myLACCDcard will be mailed to financial aid applicants who have matching Student ID with the Admissions & Records Office to the mailing address on record at Pierce College. Students should not throw away the card. With the myLACCDcard, students will be able to make choices on how to receive their financial aid funds. There are two options that students must choose:
1. Easy Refund -- electronic deposit to the myLACCDcard. With this option, students are opening up a checking account with Higher One and the myLACCDcard becomes an active Debit MasterCard. Student's financial aid disbursements (refunds) will be deposited to the Higher One account, called OneAccount, and students may use the myLACCDcard to make purchases or withdraw cash from any Higher One ATMs.
2. Electronic Deposit (ACH) -- With this option, students are authorizing Higher One to forward their financial aid disbursements (refunds) to their own bank account. Students will need to enter their bank information (checking or savings) including the routing number. To access their financial aid funds as soon as the District Office successfully deposits funds to their account, students may use their own bank's ATM or Debit Card to make purchases or withdraw cash. The myLACCDcard will no longer be active.
We are very excited about this opportunity to provide Los Angeles Community College District students faster service and increased choices for receiving their financial aid funds. Please join us in welcoming this exciting new service to Pierce College .
